Bodega: Small Town Shopping Tour

This tiny town stands by itself at the end of the Bodega Highway before it Ts into Coast Hwy 1. If you are coming from the north, you'll see the signs to turn left into Bodega. I have several people here I enjoy spending time with and my favorite is Yeunny Meyers. She has a little shop on the north side of town where she sews beautiful clothing of fine fabrics. This is her art and her craft. The fabrics spill color over your body and Yeunny fills it in with her warmth and creativity. You can choose from clothes on her racks or have her custom tailor what you want. Her art is wearable. And if all you need is a silk scarf, you'll find plenty to choose from.
Jerry Dodrill is another person I enjoy visiting and his photographs reflect our home in stunning color. The man is a master. You can purchase his original prints or reproductions in many sizes. It's a very democratic gallery. So much art is not available to people on a low budget. Jerry offers his for everyone to enjoy, from greeting cards to large framed prints.
Art and beauty fill this tiny town, so make sure you wander into Artisans Co-op where many artists sell their wares from hand knit wool sweaters to jewelry. Different co-op artists tend the store so you never know who you'll see. Take your time here because there are nearly 20 artists' work to explore. Antiques and fine art stores and galleries populate the rest of town from one end to the other. And there's even Bodega Thrift, open on weekends, that specializes in clothing, like frilly dresses for girls, and household items. This is the town with the famous church on the hill and the old school house where Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds was filmed, so it has plenty of historic significance.
